Hair....What do men think?

http://madamenoire.com/tag/men/

Natural... relaxed....curly....straight.....twist.....the list is endless.  It's the catalog of infinite possibilities to be chosen from.  We swear by products and create styles to express our mood.   Once our hair is finished, we feel good.  Go out on the town, have a lunch date with your girlfriends or go grocery shopping with the kids, all the while getting compliment after compliment.  "Girl, who did your hair", "That cut is so becoming" are just a few of the rave reviews we receive. But, what happens when you get home?  What does your man think?   Does he look at your natural locks like "how much longer are you going without a perm?" Does he look at your wig on the dresser wondering if it is going to walk off and say hi?  Does he embrace your never-ending quest for healthy beautiful hair, regardless of your extreme measures?

It's been my experience that all the men in my life (my dad and my husband, of course) don't seem to care as long as it looks nice.  However, there are times when I think I'm rocking a banging hairstyle, get all the fan-fair about my hair in public then I get home and my husband says "is your hair done, yet?"   I think to myself, is he serious?...... this style is fly or is it?  Yes, your hair compliments you as well as a reflection of your partner. Meaning, whether your hair is traditionally styled or up-to-date with the latest hair fashion, you partner will be walking beside you as you express yourself through your hair. I am thankful for my husband. He has been through ever step of my relentless hair journey. From permed to bald, natural and weaved, he shows me continuous love and support through my journey.  He also has no problem saying "Babe, that's an interesting hair style" instead of saying "You better try something different".  When your hair looks good, you feel good. Having the one you love walking beside you with your fabulous hair makes you feel even better.

So, what does your man think about your hair?

  1. I have been natural since 2/12 and my husband has not made one comment about my hair. Nothing good nor bad. I think that he hates it. But I am on this journey not only for me but also for my 2 year old daughter. I want her to love and embrace her natural locks.

  2. When I was transitioning to natural i felt so unattractive. The guy i was seeing at the time loved my long thick hair and now i was chopping it off one inch at a time. What a man thnks of ur hair can play with ur self exteme, now that i've made it through that phase and completly natural I feel so beautiful and I now understand if a man does not love u and the many hair styles.....he's not the one for you
