Bald is Beautiful

Some people cut all their hair  off because they want to. Some have a diesease or condition that gives them no choice. I didn't choose to loose all my hair from my head and body, my body choose it for me. So, Bald is beautiful? Yes, it is. I have embraced every style I have had from permed, curly, straight to natural.  Now its time to incorporate my BB (Beautiful Baldness). When I see women, children wearing their bald head proudly, it inspires me.  It has taking me years to become comfortable enough to face my conditon and to talk about it.  Now for my next step, gaining enough spirit and internal encouragement to show the world my beautiful bald head.  Just the thought of it makes me nervous.  What are you going to do with your wigs?  I love hair and will continue to make and wear them, but it would sure be nice sometimes on those blazing hot days to put on some bold earrings, some pretty natural makeup and rock out with my bald head.  What will people think?  I don't know but my family is my biggest cheerleader and my husband who has been with me thru my journey loves me regardless, thats all I need.  What is your bald is beautiful? Have you ever been so inspired to do something that puts you out of your comfort zone?

One day this pic above will be me :)

All Wrapped Up!!!!

Patterned, bright, floral, solid.....A scarf can make a statement with any outfit.    Scarves compliment any hairstyle and look.   Find your inner Queen of the Nile, Turban twisted style and beware of looking like Rosie the Riveter when trying to achieve this.  For those of us with little to no hair, scarves are a great way to appease your sense of style, keep you on trend and most importantly it gives you a break from the wigs and weaves.  It also can be challenging to wear a scarf with no hair, so try to pick a thicker but breathable material to give your headwrap the fullness it needs.  There are so many ways to tie and style a scarf.  However, I find instead of just YouTubing it, I prefer just to play around with the scarf until I find the style to fit me. Practice makes perfect!!! The cinnanbon  at the top of your head doesn't fit everyone so find a style that works for you. No more color coordinated bonnets please.  I'm just saying :)  What's your headwrap style?

Changing Up the Fro!!!

Pic courtesy of Mea Davis/featuring Mea Davis

Shaft, Foxy Brown (The Original), Diana Ross, Ahmir-Khalib Thompson (Drummer from the Roots) are just a few notable Afros that have been rocking the scene.  The 70’s was the epitome of the Fro. “ Fight the power”, “Right On” and “You jive turkey” were the slang terms that gave the Afro meaning and power.  As we evolved, so did the Fro.  Gone are the days of Afro picks stuck in your head.  Now there are Frohawks, Boxed out Fro’es, Twist out Fro’s and hundreds of ways to accessories them.  Cute jeweled headbands and patterned bright scarves are great choices for the summer months.  Statement earrings, the bigger the better, to accentuate that Afro speaks trend and style. Don’t forget to keep that Afro moist and shiny.  No one wants to see a dull/dry Fro.  What’s your Afro style change up?

Happy I'm Back 2013 :)

It’s been a minute, but now I back to talk shop.  I had a baby boy since my last blog post and now I’m back to give you latest on hair, products and more.  Also, I will be incorporating my new business called Thirty-One gifts.  I will feature Thirty-One pieces that are fully functional and can organize any product junkie.  As for my hair journey since my last post, due to my Alopecia my hair is once again gone with the wind.  That’s ok because I’m a wig-a-holic.  So of course, I will continue to feature the wigs I make and weave, weave and more weave J  Because I my Alopecia, this blog has allowed me to open up and make people aware that it’s just not caused by a bad perm.  I will continue to share my research on the path of regrowing my hair.  Not to stray from my natural flow, I will continue to feature natural hair products, styles, and accessories to accentuate all naturals.  And for my perm heads, before my Alopecia I loved a perm too, I will feature the latest perms and styles as well.   So happy to be back, So much to share…Keep loving you hair up there :)
